Fabric Technician

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fabric Technician to join a leading building services maintenance company, working on a prestigious contract at Heathrow Airport. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, well‑established organisation offering long‑term progression, training, and overtime opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out a wide range of fabric maintenance duties, including :
  • Carpentry
  • Painting and decorating
  • Replacing ceiling tiles
  • Laying carpet tiles
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works in line with SLAs, KPIs, and CPIs
  • Identify and immediately report any potentially dangerous situations
  • Order materials and services using the company ordering system
  • Update job sheets and records to confirm satisfactory completion of works
  • Maintain high Health & Safety standards, adhering to HSSE policies at all times
  • Ensure PPE and tools are kept safe, secure, and in good condition
  • Work closely with subcontractors, including monitoring works during service visits where required
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial maintenance
  • Strong fabric and carpentry skillset
  • Polite, professional, and customer‑focused approach
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Proactive attitude with the ability to seek out work independently
  • City & Guilds / NVQ in Carpentry, Joinery, Building Construction, or Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (desirable but not essential)
