Job summary

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in Brackley, UK offers a year-in-industry placement in the Control Systems Department, with two paths: Applied Performance or Capability. You’ll work on embedded control software, real-time systems and data analysis to support car performance.

You will be mentored by experienced engineers, gain ownership of meaningful projects, and join a cohort across functions during the 2027–2028 placement window.

Qualifications

• Be studying an engineering discipline with some specialization in control systems.
• Strong background in Mathematics and Physics.
• At least one year remaining on your course from the start date.
• Proactive ownership and independence as experience grows.
• Be adaptable, collaborative and able to work in a team.
• Show determination and resilience when facing challenges.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and contribute to development.

Responsibilities

• Join Control Systems in Applied Performance or Capability roles.
• Work with embedded control software, real-time systems, and data analysis.
• Develop and maintain tools across MATLAB/Simulink, CAN/EtherCAT networks.
• Collaborate with engineers across functions and support race-related tasks.
• Contribute to calibration, testing environments, and system development.
• Prepare pre-/post-event analyses and reports for performance.
