Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team is offering a year-in-industry placement in Brackley within the Control Systems Department. You will join one of two tracks: Applied Performance or Capability, working on embedded control software, real-time systems, simulation, data analysis and tooling.

You'll learn from experienced engineers, contribute to projects that impact car performance and development efficiency, and gain hands-on experience across SIL/HIL, dynos, and driver-in-the-loop environments during

Qualifications

• Be studying a relevant engineering discipline with possible specialization in control systems.
• Strong background in engineering with mathematics and physics.
• At least one year remaining on your current course.
• Take ownership of your work, showing initiative and independence as your experience grows.
• Be adaptable, proactive and collaborative, and thrive in a team environment.
• Show determination and resilience when tackling unfamiliar or challenging problems.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail in your work.

Responsibilities

• Develop control system software using Model Based Design in MATLAB and Simulink.
• Analyse control system behaviour with MATLAB and Python.
• Contribute to physical and virtual test environments, including SIL, HIL, dynos and driver-in-the-loop simulators.
• Work with real-time hardware, automotive interfaces, industrial control systems and communication networks (CAN, Ethernet, EtherCAT).
