Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in Brackley, UK invites you to join our Technology Engineering Department for a year-long placement from June 2027 to July 2028. You will work on designing, developing and improving hardware for wind tunnels, simulators and dynos to support performance testing of our Formula One car.

Essentials: strong mechanical engineering background with 3D CAD, at least one year remaining on your course, and a proactive, team‑oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Have a strong background in mechanical engineering or physics-based disciplines and some knowledge of 3D CAD.
• At least one year remaining on your course or enrolled on the next course from start.
• Flexible hours, can-do attitude, team-playing, and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Be adaptable with a proactive mindset and collaborative approach in a team.
• Show determination and resilience when facing challenges.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Hands on experience in an engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development and performance of the Formula One car in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Design, develop, and improve hardware across wind tunnel, simulators, and dynos.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technicians, supporting design and build activities.
• Take ownership of engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Define requirements, manage timelines, coordinate stakeholders, oversee build activities, and deliver final outcomes.
• Develop technical and project management skills while contributing to team performance.
