Qualifications

  • Experience working with EYFS pupils, including those with SEN.
  • DBS enhanced disclosure and reference checks required.
  • Legal right to work in the UK confirmed.
  • Experience with ASD/ADHD considerations is advantageous.
  • Ability to support learning activities and monitor progress.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support for EYFS students in class and during play.
  • Assist with learning activities and implement individual education programmes.
  • Monitor pupil progress, observations and liaise with parents as needed.
  • Assist with photocopying and prep for teaching sessions.
  • Track progress and interventions with the class teacher.
  • Plan adaptations with teachers for changes in school day or trips.
  • Contribute to health and safety, and report incidents when required.
  • Administer basic first aid and respond to emotional or social behaviours.
  • Attend in-service training and staff meetings; maintain professional conduct.

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting! Looking for a fulfilling EYFS Teaching Assistant role in Liverpool? We are seeking experienced and passionate EYFS Teaching Assistants for our North Liverpool based primary schools.

The main purpose of these roles is to work one-to-one with EYFS students with SEN and/or behavioural considerations to help them achieve the most from their educational experience.

Main Duties
  • Assist with a child in class under the direction of the teacher, working primarily in a one-to-one capacity to support with designated tasks in both class lessons and play, and outside of the classroom
  • Under the direction of the class teacher support learning activities and work with the individual, assisting in the implementation, and monitoring of progress, of individual education programmes
  • Assist with monitoring of progress, pupil observations, and if needed, to liaise with parents under the direction of the class teacher
  • Support teachers in photocopying and other tasks in preparation and support of teaching the student
  • Work with class teacher to track progress and the effectiveness of interventions and strategies
  • Be pro-active in thinking ahead to work with the class teacher and parents to plan adaptations to any changes in the usual school day or school trips
  • Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety, monitoring and dealing with such things as trip hazards by ensuring equipment is tidied away, and that storage and the learning environments are used appropriately
  • Subject to appropriate training and certification, administer basic first aid to pupils wherever required during the working day, dealing with any basic accidents and reporting incidents
  • React and deal appropriately, in a way that is consistent with the teacher's directions, to the emotional or social behaviours of pupils
  • Attend relevant in-service training and occasional staff meetings
  • At all times set a good example to students in terms of dress, punctuality, attendance and calm, polite behaviours
  • Any other reasonable duties as required by the Head Teacher

  • Possess energy and enthusiasm

  • Experienced within an SEN setting
  • Experience working with students with ASD and ADHD considerations
  • Experience as a one-to-one Teaching Assistant
  • Will set and achieve high standards and expectations of learning, behaviour, and care
  • Eager to develop their skills and abilities

  • Minimum of 12 months experience in a similar role
  • An enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • A CV that must cover the last 10 years of employment history (where possible)
