Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is helping a Wirral primary school find an EYFS Teaching Assistant to support early learning and development in a nurturing environment. The role involves collaborative planning with teachers and adapting activities for diverse learners.

The ideal candidate holds a Level 3 TA qualification (or is working towards it) with GCSEs in Maths and English and prior EYFS/KS1 experience. Sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or currently working towards it).
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4 or above).
  • Experience supporting children in Key Stage 1 or EYFS.
  • Knowledge of strategies to support pupils with SEND.
  • Understanding of child development and learning processes.
  • Positive behaviour management skills.
  • Good communication, empathy, patience, and ability to stay calm in challenging situations.
  • UK right to work (sponsorship cannot be offered).

Responsibilities

  • Support students to access lessons and meet learning goals, including SEND pupils.
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan engaging lessons and assess progress.
  • Encourage independent learning and monitor student progress.
  • Work with small groups or individuals on targeted activities.
  • Build positive relationships to support wellbeing and development.
  • Communicate with parents/carers to support each child.
  • Provide flexible support across school areas as needed.

Education

Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or currently working towards it)

This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on childrens' educational journeys within a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting students to access lesson content and achieve their learning goals, including those with SEND needs
  • Collaborating with teachers to plan engaging lessons and assess student progress
  • Helping children develop independent learning skills and manage their own progress
  • Working with small groups or individual pupils on targeted activities
  • Building positive relationships with students to support their wellbeing and personal development
  • Communicating with parents and carers to support each child's success
  • Providing flexible support across different areas of the school as needed
