Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking several Full Time Teaching Assistants to support SEND students in South Liverpool mainstream primary schools from September 2026. Prior SEND experience, particularly with Autism and ADHD, and the ability to manage challenging behaviours are essential.

You will work closely with teachers, parents and external agencies to implement IEPs, promote inclusion and help pupils engage and thrive in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN or challenging behaviour in a school or care setting.
• Patient, resilient and caring approach.
• Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
• Excellent communication and proactive pupil engagement.
• Manual Handling qualifications desired; experience with challenging behaviour essential.

Responsibilities

We are currently looking for people interested in Long Term, Full time roles for September 2026.To be successful you will need past experience working with SEND children, particularly Autism and ADHD and be able to manage challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide targeted behaviour and learning support to pupils with a range of SEND needs.
• Implement, review and contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a consistent and effective approach for each child.
• Promote a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where every pupil feels safe and supported.
• Use de-escalation and positive behaviour management techniques to help pupils regulate and engage.

What We're Looking For

• Experience supporting children with SEN or challenging behaviour, ideally in a school or care setting.
