Supply Desk is recruiting an EYFS Learning Support Assistant for a long-term, full-time position in a SL3 primary school setting. You will support pupils in the classroom and deliver targeted interventions under the guidance of the class teacher, helping children reach their learning goals.

The role suits patient and proactive individuals with a passion for early years development. A positive, collaborative approach and safeguarding awareness are essential; an Enhanced DBS is required.

Qualifications

  • Patience and positive attitude when supporting young learners.
  • Strong communication with teachers, pupils and parents.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and take direction.
  • Experience or willingness to support pupils with SEN.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils in the classroom, both 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and resource preparation.
  • Provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs (SEN).
  • Encourage pupil confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioral development.
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Monitor and report pupil progress to the class teacher.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff and external professionals.

Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the SL3 area to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This role would suit a patient, caring, and proactive individual who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential and thrive in the classroom.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils learning, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You will play a key role in helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting pupils learning in the classroom, both 1:1 and in small groups
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and preparation of resources
  • Providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs (SEN)
  • Encouraging pupils confidence, independence, and engagement in learning
  • Supporting pupils social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress to the class teacher
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, staff, and external professionals
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children (school-based experience desirable)
  • A patient, supportive, and positive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
  • A genuine passion for supporting children s development
Desirable:
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
