Job summary

Supply Desk is working with a welcoming primary school in the SL3 area to appoint a dedicated EYFS Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing school environment and make a real difference in supporting pupils’ learning and development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children (school-based experience desirable).
• A patient, supportive, and positive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s development.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification).
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils’ learning in the classroom, both 1:1 and in small groups.
• Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and resource preparation.
• Providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs (SEN).
• Encouraging pupils’ confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
• Supporting pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Maintaining a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
• Monitoring and reporting pupil progress to the class teacher.
• Collaborating with teachers, staff and external professionals.
