Job summary

Optegra Eye Healthcare in Colchester is seeking an experienced Receptionist to join the Patient Services Team at our private Colchester Eye Hospital. This role covers front-of-house duties, greeting patients, handling calls, and providing friendly, professional support.

The position is a zero-hour contract with flexible shifts and pay up to £16 per hour, depending on experience. Ideal candidates will have strong customer service skills, good IT ability, and a calm, organised approach to busy

Qualifications

• Experience in front-of-house/customer service roles.
• Experience with billing/accounts is desirable.
• Private healthcare experience is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good organisation and ability to work under pressure.
• Attention to detail and administrative accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to support colleagues and staff.

Responsibilities

• Cover main hospital reception and be first point of contact for patients and visitors.
• Greet patients and visitors professionally and manage inquiries.
• Assist with patient queries before and after consultations.
• Support Patient Services with billing and general administration.
