Job summary

Streamline Services Consultancy Limited is seeking an Export Operations Executive in Tilbury to manage export shipments from booking to delivery, coordinating with customers, carriers, and overseas agents. A strong understanding of airfreight and seafreight exports and customs entries is essential.

Two years’ experience in export freight forwarding and exposure to CNS, Destin8 or Multi-Freight are advantageous; SME forwarder experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• At least two years’ experience in export freight forwarding (air and seafreight).
• Experience completing customs export entries and documentation.
• Experience with CNS, Destin8 and/or Multi-Freight is advantageous.
• SME freight forwarder background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage export shipments from booking to completion.

• Organise collections and meet vessel/flight cut-offs.
• Prepare export documentation and manifests.
• Process customs export declarations.
• Check destination documentation requirements.
• Liaise with warehouses on screening and weighing.

• Prepare invoices and send pre-alerts to overseas agents.
• Maintain clear communication with customers, hauliers and carriers.
• Follow up with customers after delivery for feedback.
• Support the exports team with day-to-day queries.

We’re currently recruiting for an Export Operations Executive to join an established and growing freight forwarding business based in Tilbury.

Our client has decades of experience within the logistics and freight forwarding industry, handling international cargo across air, sea, road and rail. With a strong reputation for customs expertise and worldwide agency relationships, they offer a professional but personable working environment where their team plays a key role in delivering a high-quality service to customers.

The Role

This is a hands-on export position suited to someone who already has experience within a freight forwarding environment, particularly within a small to medium-sized forwarder.

• You'll be responsible for coordinating export shipments from booking through to final delivery, working closely with customers, carriers, hauliers, warehouses and overseas agents.
• A strong working knowledge of both airfreight and seafreight exports is essential, along with previous experience handling customs entries.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing export shipments from initial booking through to completion
• Booking cargo with shipping lines, airlines and other carriers
• Organising collections and ensuring vessel and flight cut-offs are met
• Preparing export documentation, manifests and related paperwork
• Completing and processing customs export declarations
• Checking destination and country-specific documentation requirements
• Liaising with warehouses regarding cargo screening and check weighing
• Monitoring shipments to ensure all deadlines are achieved
• Preparing invoices and sending pre-alerts to overseas agents
• Maintaining clear and effective communication with customers, hauliers and carriers
• Following up with customers following delivery to ensure a high level of service
• Resolving day-to-day operational queries and supporting the wider exports team

About You

We’re looking for someone with at least two years’ experience in export freight forwarding, with exposure to both air and sea exports.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience working for a freight forwarder, preferably within an SME environment
• Solid knowledge of airfreight and seafreight export procedures
• Hands-on experience completing customs export entries
• Experience preparing export documentation and understanding country requirements
• Experience with CNS, Destin8 and/or Multi-Freight would be advantageous, although candidates with strong relevant export experience will also be considered.

What’s on Offer?

• £30,000-£35,000 salary, depending on experience
• Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm
