Job summary

ABP UK in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to manage aged debt across a ~125-strong customer base. You will chase debtors by phone and email, allocate euro payments, and resolve queries with sites and European agents.

The role demands accuracy, teamwork, and a proactive approach to cash collection. Key duties include opening new accounts via external credit checks and insurance companies, daily ledger housekeeping, and maintaining DSO targets.

Responsibilities

• Manage aged debt for a customer base of ~125 accounts
• Chase debtors via telephone and email
• Allocate euro payments into the bank and cover cashier holidays
• Log/resolve customer queries with sites and European agents
• Open new customer accounts using external credit check and insurance providers
• Daily housekeeping of ledger accounts
• Work towards cash collection KPIs (DSO)
• Hold and release orders as appropriate
• Scan cash sheets
• Weekly distribution of remittances and emails to the team
• Support fast-paced credit control operations

Job description

The Role involves:

• Responsible for Aged Debt, customer base approx 125
• Chasing Debtors via Telephone & Email
• Allocation of Euro payments received into the Bank ( cover cashiers holidays)
• Logging/Resolving customer queries with Sites & European Agents
• Opening of New Customer Accounts - Using an external Credit Check Company and also External Insurance Companies
• Daily Housekeeping of accounts within your ledger
• Working to DSO
• Maintain orders on hold , to be released if acceptable
• Scanning cash sheets
• Assigned on a weekly basis to maintain the generic email inbox and distribute remittances /emails to other team members
• Fast Paced Credit Control

Skills & Experience Requirements:

• At least 3 years Credit Control Experience
• Strong Communication skills, written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail
• Team - Oriented; Commitment to working in a positive and collaborative environment
• Experienced, but not essential in the Export sector of Credit Control
