Job summary

ABP seeks a credit controller to manage aged debt for about 125 customers at our Birmingham area site. The role includes allocating euro payments, logging queries, and opening new customer accounts using external credit checks and insurers.

Daily ledger housekeeping and working toward DSO targets are also required. You will support a collaborative team in a role that offers a cycle-to-work scheme, opportunities for career development, and wellbeing resources.

Qualifications

• 3 years of credit control experience or more.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Team-oriented, positive and collaborative work approach.
• Experience in export credit control not essential but beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage aged debt for ~125 customers.
• Allocate euro payments into the bank to cover cashiers' holidays.
• Log and resolve customer queries with Sites and European Agents.
• Open new customer accounts using external credit checks and insurers.
• Daily housekeeping of accounts and adherence to DSO targets.
• Maintain orders on hold and release when appropriate.
• Rotate responsibilities for weekly inbox and distribute remittances/emails.

The Role involves:

• Responsible for Aged Debt, customer base approx 125
• Allocation of Euro payments received into the Bank ( cover cashiers holidays)
• Logging/Resolving customer queries with Sites & European Agents
• Opening of New Customer Accounts – Using an external Credit Check Company and also External Insurance Companies
• Daily Housekeeping of accounts within your ledger
• Working to DSO
• Maintain orders on hold , to be released if acceptable
• Assigned on a weekly basis to maintain the generic email inbox and distribute remittances /emails to other team members

Skills & Experience Requirements:

• At least 3 years Credit Control Experience
• Strong Communication skills, written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail
• Team – Oriented; Commitment to working in a positive and collaborative environment
• Experienced, but not essential in the Export sector of Credit Control
