Job summary

Monarch Education are working with a primary school in the B45 area to recruit an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant. The role is full-time and long-term, supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH, and communication needs in small groups.

You will assist with academic tasks and emotional support, helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop social skills. Local candidates are preferred and previous SEND experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Strong behaviour management skills for challenging behaviour.
• Patient, positive, nurturing approach to learning and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND to access learning in small groups.
• Provide academic support and emotional encouragement to build confidence.
• Contribute to a safe, supportive classroom environment and positive relationships.
