Job summary

Monarch Education are working with a primary school in the B45 area to recruit an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant. The role is full-time and long-term, supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH, and communication needs in small groups.

You will assist with academic tasks and emotional support, helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop social skills. Local candidates are preferred and previous SEND experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Strong behaviour management skills for challenging behaviour.
• Patient, positive, nurturing approach to learning and wellbeing.

Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant

Area: B45, Birmingham
Hours: Mon - Fri, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Salary: £100 - £110 per day
Start Date: ASAP / September

Monarch Education are working with a primary school in B45 to recruit an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils within their adapted provision.

This is a full-time, long-term role working with small groups of pupils with Autism, SEMH, communication needs, and challenging behaviour. You will support pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them access learning, build confidence, and develop key social skills.

We are looking for candidates who are local to the B45 area and have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND, either in a school, care, residential, or similar setting. The ideal candidate will be patient, resilient, and passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people.

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• Strong behaviour management skills and confidence working with challenging behaviour
• A patient, positive, and nurturing approach
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A flexible and proactive attitude
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential
• Candidates must be local to the B45 area
