Job summary

AEJ Management is seeking an experienced Groundworks Supervisor to join their expanding facilities management team. The role is based at the Chelmsford Head Office with weekly rota tasks and travel across the UK to cover allocated jobs, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities include supervising on-site groundworks, paving, drainage, and finishing works, ensuring adherence to health and safety policies, and completing completion reports. A driving licence, CSCS and SSSTS are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in the groundworks sector.
• Minimum 12 months supervisory experience.
• CSCS card holder.
• SSSTS qualification.
• Full driving licence.
• Ability to work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Supervise on-site groundworks and ensure processes are followed.
• Carry out paving, kerbing, drainage, and finishing works as required.
• Ensure health and safety policies are followed on site.
• Complete completion reports after works using the online system.
• Sign permits to work on site and manage on-site safety for the team and public.

Job description

AEJ Management are an expanding facilities management service company, who provide security guards, cleaners, ground workers, maintenance and landscapers to retail, shopping, trade, leisure and business parks across the UK.

Within the business, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Groundworks Supervisor to join the team. This role will involve using our Chelmsford Head Office as a base to complete your weekly rota/tasks and then travelling across the UK to cover the various different allocated jobs, and as such, it will require flexibility for overnight stays throughout the working week (up to 4 nights per week).

Please note that as some of the work we do requires the groundwork teams to work through the night, so applicants must be willing to work both day and night shifts at locations throughout the UK.

Please note: Successful applicants will be required to provide proof of their eligibility to work in the UK. This role will also be subject to a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

Pay: £21.63 - £22.63 per hour (ranging, depending on days/nights worked)

Hours: 48 per week (minimum with days/nights generally being a max of 10 hrs)

Vehicle: Company van provided along with fuel card

Pension: Auto-enrolment with Penfold Pensions

Hols: 22 days per year (plus BH) plus 1 extra day for the week of your birthday

What do I need to do…

As a Groundworks Supervisor, you are responsible for:

• Supervision of work on site, ensuring all processes are followed correctly.
• General construction work in line with client requirements, including paving, kerbing, installing bollards / machines / equipment, foundation work, drainage, finishing works, surfacing, concreting etc.
• Ensuring full compliance with company and on-site client health and safety policy and requirements.
• Ensuring all remedial tarmac and elastomac surface work is completed to our high standards and meets client expectations.
• Delivering a high-quality work in line with company and client expectations.
• Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required
• Completing Completion reports after completion of works using our online admin system.
• Signing permits to work on site
• Managing health and safety on site to protect your team and the public.

Experience Skills required:

• Minimum of 12 months experience of working in grounds maintenance supervisory role.
• Proven knowledge of hand lay patching or potholing surface operations using tarmac or elastomac.
• Experience of using a range of power tools and equipment.
• CSCS Card.
• SSSTS
• Ability to work at heights.
• Full driving licence.

This role will require working away from home on a planned basis. Hotel accommodation and subsistence allowance is provided in line with our Expense Policy.
