Job summary

Daniel Owen Ltd in the South East London & Kent region is seeking a Lead Groundworker to take the next step in your career. This hands-on leadership role oversees a small team and ensures works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard across multiple projects.

You will lead two Groundworkers on site, perform drainage, foundations, paving, kerbing, concreting and excavation, read site drawings, and liaise with site managers and clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years experience within groundworks.
• Previous experience leading or supervising small site teams (Desirable).
• Strong understanding of health & safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret site drawings.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• CSCS Card essential.
• SSSTS/SMSTS would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of two Groundworkers across multiple sites.
• Carry out hands-on groundworks activities including drainage, foundations, paving, kerbing, concreting, excavation.
• Coordinate daily site activities and allocate workloads.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to specification.
• Conduct site inspections and maintain high-quality standards.
• Liaise with site managers, subcontractors and clients where required.
• Ensure all health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Manage materials, plant and equipment efficiently across sites.

Are you an experienced Groundworker ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Groundworker to join a growing and well-established business operating across South East London and Kent.

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example whilst remaining actively involved on site. You will be responsible for overseeing a small team of two Groundworkers and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard across multiple projects.
