Job summary

Tradeline Recruitment is seeking an experienced Groundworks Foreman to lead two in-house operatives on sites across London and the South East. The role involves supervising works, reading drawings, and ensuring toolbox talks and sign‑offs are completed to spec; a company van and tools are provided.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in groundworks and 3+ years in supervision, with SSSTS/SMSTS and CPCS/NPORS credentials.

Qualifications

• SSSTS / SMSTS qualification required.
• Over 10 years of groundworks experience.
• Minimum 3 years in supervisory/management roles.

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client is a site services division of a family owned group of companies turning over £20m.

This division specialise in all aspects of groundwork from ground clearance, drainage, utilities, finishing and landscaping.

With an increasing workload which will see them triple their turnover in the next 12 months, they require an experienced Groundworks Foreman to join their team and oversee projects with the help of two in house operatives.

The works are across London and the South East, so travel is required. A company van fully equipped with all the tools you will need is provided.

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years experience within the groundworks sector and have supervisory / managerial experience.

Reporting to a contracts manager, you will lead the two operatives working with you. You will need to understand drawings, do tool box talks and sign off works.

You’ll assist the two operatives with the more technical tasks and operate machinery when needed.
