Job summary

Sedgwick in Glasgow seeks an experienced Major Loss Adjuster to join the Major & Complex Loss team. You will manage high-value commercial property claims from investigation to settlement, delivering expert guidance with empathy.

You’ll work independently and with specialists, on-site or from home, contributing to top-tier client service and industry leadership. A UK driving licence and ACII/ACILA qualifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Strong customer focus with a proven track record of delivering exceptional service.
• Solid experience handling major and complex commercial property claims.
• Excellent communication skills—listen, explain clearly and negotiate fairly.
• Confident working independently and managing your own caseload.
• Proactive, problem-solving mindset with ability to prioritise and adapt.
• Strong IT skills, especially Excel.
• ACII/ACILA or equivalent qualifications (or working towards them).
• Professional, empathetic approach to client relationships.
• Experience in account management or market profiling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of high-value commercial property claims, including material damage and business interruption.
• Lead investigations from initial assessment to final settlement.
• Work independently and with Adjusting Executives and technical specialists.
• Occasionally on-site damage assessments or reports from home/office.
• Deliver exceptional service and meet client expectations.
