Job summary

Village Hotels - Cardiff is seeking a Meetings and Events Assistant Manager to be the operational backbone for weddings, banquets and conferences. You will manage shifts, set up spaces, demonstrate AV tech, and coach your team to deliver an electric guest experience while driving bar revenue.

Ideal candidates have supervisory experience in events, stay calm under pressure, and enjoy hands‑on leadership on a busy floor with a focus on profitability and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience in events management or supervisory roles essential.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure during large events.
• Proficient with AV equipment and event tech.
• Willingness to lead a team on the events floor.

Responsibilities

• Oversee floor set-up and ensure spaces meet brand standards and layouts.
• Lead and coach the events team, conduct on-floor training.
• Upsell F&B opportunities and manage payroll cost to protect profit.
• Coordinate with sales and organisers to resolve on-the-day issues.
