Job summary

Edgbaston Park Hotel & Conference Centre in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Assistant Conference & Banqueting Manager to lead our busy Conference & Banqueting operation across four buildings.

You will support the Conference & Banqueting Manager, manage staffing, service delivery and events from planning to execution, and develop a team to deliver high standards of guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervisory or assistant management within hospitality.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple events.

Responsibilities

• Support the Conference & Banqueting Manager with daily management and performance of the department.
• Take full responsibility for C&B operations in the Manager's absence, including staffing and service delivery.
• Plan and oversee conferences, meetings, weddings, private dining and events to high standards.
• Review upcoming events, function sheets, staffing requirements and room layouts to ensure preparedness.
• Lead daily briefings and delegate tasks to ensure service expectations are met.
• Maintain a visible hands-on presence during service and support the team during busy periods.
• Coordinate with Events, Kitchen and hotel teams for seamless delivery of events.
• Assist rota planning, staffing levels and payroll control in line with budgets.
