Job summary

Edgbaston Park Hotel & Conference Centre is seeking an experienced Assistant Conference & Banqueting Manager to join our Food & Beverage team. You will lead the C&B operation in the Manager's absence, planning and delivering conferences, meetings, dinners, weddings and events across our facilities.

You will supervise the department, coach and develop staff, and work closely with Events, Kitchen and hotel teams to ensure exceptional guest experiences and smooth event delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising in hospitality, ideally hotels or events.
• Strong leadership with ability to manage a department and make decisions.
• Excellent organisational and forward planning to handle multiple events.

Responsibilities

• Assist Conference & Banqueting Manager in daily operations and performance.
• Lead the C&B operation when the Manager is absent, including staffing and service delivery.
• Plan and oversee conferences, meetings, weddings and events to high standards.
• Review upcoming events, function sheets, room layouts and equipment in advance.
• Lead daily briefings, delegate tasks and ensure service expectations are met.
• Maintain a hands-on presence during service to support the team.
• Collaborate with Events, Kitchen and hotel teams for seamless delivery.
• Assist rota planning, staffing levels and payroll control per budget.
