Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Event Catering Operations Coordinator for a dynamic catering client in Randburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on coordinating events from booking to service, liaising with clients, and ensuring flawless execution across logistics, staffing, and inventory.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving. You will support kitchen and service teams, manage deliveries, and uphold strict food safety

Qualifications

• Previous experience in event coordination or catering operations.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all logistical aspects of catering events, including staffing, equipment, transportation, and client requirements.
• Liaise with clients to confirm event details, menus, timelines, and special requests.
• Schedule and manage catering staff, ensuring adequate coverage for all events.
• Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation and delivery of all food and beverage items.
• Oversee the setup and breakdown of catering services at event venues.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation throughout all operations.
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen, service staff, and clients to ensure smooth event execution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues that may arise during events.
• Assist in post-event follow-up, including gathering client feedback and reporting.
