Job summary

The Celtic Collection in Newport is seeking an Events Bar Team Leader to oversee bar operations for conferences, exhibitions, gala dinners and large celebrations. You will lead a busy team, ensure seamless service and maintain five-star guest experiences during high-volume events.

Based at our Newport venue, this part-time role offers £12.82 per hour with excellent benefits and 20 hours per week over three days.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor in busy bar/hospitality/events.
• Experience in fast-paced, high-volume operations with guest service focus.
• Banqueting or large-scale event experience advantageous.
• Positive, hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and coach.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Flexible approach and willingness to support wider operation.
• Good IT literacy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Events Bar team and supervise service.
• Coordinate and deliver efficient service across multiple event bars.
• Motivate and coach team members during busy service periods.
• Ensure guests receive prompt, friendly and professional service.
• Collaborate with Conference & Events colleagues to ensure smooth delivery of occasions.

• Anticipate guest needs and respond quickly and positivelyto requests
• Ensure bar and service areas are fully stocked, organisedand presentation-ready
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety and servicethroughout each event
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Conference& Events to ensure the smooth delivery of every occasion
• Play a key role in creating memorable experiences forthousands of guests each year
