Job summary

West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Estates Craftsperson - Mechanical to support safe, efficient operation of essential engineering systems across sites. You will perform complex maintenance, fault-finding and repairs on mechanical plant, including LPHW, steam, cold water, plumbing, and medical gas systems, and participate in on-call work to keep facilities running 24/7.

The role requires a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship, City & Guilds Level 3 or HNC in Mechanical

Qualifications

• Recognised trade apprenticeship completed in mechanical discipline.
• City & Guilds Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Plumbing Services.
• HNC Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance within a hospital environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and non-routine maintenance work on mechanical plant and systems.
• Maintain and fault-find on LPHW, steam, cold water, plumbing, and medical gas piping.
• Undertake new installations and improvements while complying with Trust safety standards.
• Be available for Estates on-call rota and occasional weekend work.
