Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Mechanical Trades operative to support and undertake maintenance across its four hospital sites. The role emphasizes compliance with HTMs/HBNs, safety policies, and emergency response coordination to protect patient care.

The ideal candidate will assist with planned maintenance, carry out water system checks and flushing, and work under pressure with professional judgement to ensure safe, reliable estate services.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical trades operations and maintenance.
• Knowledge of HTMs, HBns and estates legislation.
• Experience working in a healthcare environment is desirable.
• Trained in Health & Safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Support and undertake mechanical trades operations across Trust sites.
• Carry out flushing of outlets and check water system temperatures.
• Prioritise essential facilities to protect patient experience and safety.
• Coordinate with Estates Helpdesk for emergency works and complaints.
• Develop and follow safe systems of work and maintain safety under pressure.
