Job summary

West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Estates Technician to join a dedicated team responsible for maintaining and improving mechanical, electrical and building services across Trust sites. You will support engineers, diagnose faults and carry out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role requires readiness to work flexibly, including out-of-hours on-call when needed, and a commitment to health and safety.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship in a mechanical trade.
• C&G or NVQ Level 3 in an Engineering discipline or equivalent.
• Evidence of CPD and CPD activity.
• Current Competent Person certificate in technical systems.
• BTEC/ONC/HNC in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for mechanical/electrical staff and contractors.
• Undertake complex fault diagnosis and maintenance across the Trust.
• Lead special department projects as identified by estates leaders.
• Be conversant on decontamination equipment and related inspections.
• Carry out AP/CP duties for engineering disciplines when required.
• Deputise for Team Leaders during absences.
• Report to Estates Team Leaders daily.
