Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants is assisting a well-established healthcare organisation in Bury St Edmunds to recruit an Estates Craftsperson - Mechanical. You will maintain heating, plumbing, HVAC and associated systems across a busy estate.

This full-time position offers varied mechanical maintenance work, ongoing training, overtime opportunities and the chance to work with specialist equipment. Applicants should have Level 3 qualifications (AM 1 & 2) and City & Guilds Level 3 in

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical maintenance and fault-finding.
• Knowledge of heating, water, plumbing, HVAC or steam systems.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional weekends and on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
• Diagnose and rectify faults on mechanical systems and plant.
• Maintain heating, steam, plumbing, water, HVAC and associated systems.
• Service and repair specialist equipment including sterilisation and decontamination systems.
• Undertake installation and improvement projects.
• Complete inspection, testing and commissioning activities.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and industry regulations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues where required.

About You

• Must have Level 3 Qualifications / AM 1 and 2

• Experience in mechanical maintenance and fault-finding.
• Knowledge of heating, water, plumbing, HVAC or steam systems.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces when required.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional weekends and on-call duties.

Desirable

• HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
• HVAC qualification.
• Experience within a hospital or healthcare environment.
