Morgan Jones Estates is seeking an Estates Craftsperson – Mechanical in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk to join their busy Estates and Facilities team. You will maintain heating, plumbing, HVAC and related systems across a healthcare estate.

The role offers on-site work, overtime opportunities, ongoing training and the chance to work with specialist equipment and infrastructure to support essential services.

Formación

• Qualified mechanical engineer or plumber with Level 3 qualification.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance and fault-finding on complex systems.
• Knowledge of heating, water, plumbing, HVAC or steam systems.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
• Diagnose and rectify faults on mechanical systems and plant.
• Maintain heating, steam, plumbing, water, HVAC and associated systems.
• Service and repair specialist equipment including sterilisation and decontamination systems.
• Undertake installation and improvement projects.
• Complete inspection, testing and commissioning activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified mechanical engineer or plumber to work across a diverse estate, maintaining vital systems that support the delivery of essential services. The role offers technical variety, ongoing training, overtime opportunities and the chance to work with specialist equipment and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
• Diagnose and rectify faults on mechanical systems and plant.
• Maintain heating, steam, plumbing, water, HVAC and associated systems.
• Service and repair specialist equipment including sterilisation and decontamination systems.
• Undertake installation and improvement projects.
• Complete inspection, testing and commissioning activities.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and industry regulations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues where required.

About You

• Must have Level 3 Qualifications / AM 1 and 2 City & Guilds Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Services or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance and fault-finding.
• Knowledge of heating, water, plumbing, HVAC or steam systems.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces when required.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional weekends and on-call duties.

Desirable

• HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
• HVAC qualification.
• Experience within a hospital or healthcare environment.
