Job summary

Harbour Healthcare Limited is seeking an experienced Estates Manager to oversee the management, maintenance, and development of our property portfolio across the North East region with regular travel to sites.

You will lead all aspects of estate and facilities management, ensuring safety, compliance, and cost efficiency while partnering with contractors and internal teams to deliver a high‑quality working environment.

Qualifications

• Essential: proven experience in Estates/Facilities/Property management.
• Essential: strong knowledge of building maintenance and statutory compliance.
• Essential: experience managing budgets and contractors; excellent project management.
• Essential: health & safety knowledge and regulatory compliance.
• Essential: outstanding communication and stakeholder management.
• Essential: Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation and maintenance of the estate portfolio.
• Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes.
• Oversee facilities management services including security, cleaning, grounds, and utilities.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental and statutory regulations.
• Manage external contractors and service providers, ensuring performance standards.
• Prepare and manage estate budgets, monitor expenditure and identify cost-savings.
• Lead property improvement projects, refurbishments and capital works.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to maintain high standards.
• Manage leases, property records and estate documentation as applicable.
• Support sustainability initiatives and drive environmental improvements across the estate.
• Provide leadership and guidance to estates and facilities teams.
