Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking a Surveying Officer to support estate management across its property portfolio. The role offers hybrid working, with an expectation to attend the office 2 days per week and participate in in-person meetings.

The successful candidate will work towards the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) for MRICS, handle property queries, rent reviews, and valuations while contributing to the Asset Management Action Plan.

Qualifications

• Experience in property management and asset strategy.
• Strong communication and data-driven approach.
• Familiar with MS Office applications.
• Pursuing MRICS qualification.

Responsibilities

• Conducting lower value property management tasks and managing a varied caseload under the guidance of senior staff.
• Assisting in resolving straightforward technical property queries.
• Carrying out simple rent reviews, lease renewals, property valuations, and similar professional work.
• Ensure that personal data, property records, performance indicators and expenditure are monitored and secured in line with GDPR and NYC requirements.
• Work with colleagues across the wider property team to ensure lease obligations are met and support the Asset Management Action Plan.
• Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft software.
• Deliver specialised, tailored strategies and general surveying work.
• Support resolving technical property queries and occasional site visits.
