Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking an Estates Surveyor to join its Estates Management Function within Property Service. The role manages a diverse property portfolio, handles valuations, lease negotiations and supports regeneration projects across the region.

The position is hybrid, requires frequent travel around the county, and demands MRICS/ MRICS full RICS qualification with experience in property or estate management.

Qualifications

• Full RICS qualification and MRICS membership with experience within property or estate management.
• Experience managing diverse property portfolios including commercial, operational and land assets.

Responsibilities

• Manage leases, licenses, and rights over Council land and property.
• Conduct property inspections and valuations using RICS standards.
• Support regeneration and development projects across the region.
• Maximise income from Council-owned commercial assets.
• Contribute to strategic property initiatives.
• Maintain accurate property data and risk registers.
• Liaise with consultants, developers, and public bodies.
• Prepare reports for committees and funding bodies.
• Promote innovative working practices and customer-focused outcomes.
• Represent the Council at public and stakeholder events.
