Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking an Estates Surveyor to join the Estates Management Function within Property Service. This hybrid role requires frequent travel around the county, with a base at one of the NYC offices.

You will manage a diverse property portfolio and support strategic regeneration projects, applying RICS standards to valuations and leasing tasks. You will be part of a collaborative team, working with internal and external partners to shape the future of the local area through

Qualifications

• MRICS chartered membership with experience in property/estate management.
• Experience handling diverse property portfolios including commercial, operational and land assets.
• Strong technical ability and familiarity with valuations, leases, and data management.

Responsibilities

• Manage leases, licenses, and rights over Council land and property.
• Conduct property inspections and valuations using RICS standards.
• Support regeneration and development projects across the region.
• Maximise income from Council-owned commercial assets.
• Contribute to strategic property initiatives.
• Maintain accurate property data and risk registers.
• Liaise with consultants, developers, and public bodies.
• Prepare reports for committees and funding bodies.
• Promote innovative working practices and customer-focused outcomes.
• Represent the Council at public and stakeholder events.
