Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking an aspiring Chartered Surveyor in a Surveying Officer role, supporting estate management tasks while working toward the Assessment of Professional Competence. You’ll join the Estates team across Scarborough, Northallerton or Harrogate, and help with rent reviews, valuations and lease work.

You will develop through the role towards professional membership of the RICS and contribute to asset management initiatives within a hybrid work pattern requiring two days

Qualifications

• Post-qualification experience preferred.
• Working towards MRICS qualification.
• Good knowledge of property management and asset strategy.
• Strong communication and data-driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Conducting lower value property management tasks under guidance.
• Assist in rent reviews, renewals, and simple valuations.
• Monitor data, records and expenditure per policy, protect data boundary.
• Collaborate with the property team to meet asset management plans.
• Occasional site visits and handling straightforward property queries.
• Support general practice surveying and resolving technical queries.
