Job description
Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to join the Medical Equipment Library in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. This is an important role meeting the needs of patients across the hospital by providing medical equipment which is working well, and ready to use. IV pumps are a good example - used to give medicines and fluids into patients' veins. The Medical Equipment Library is the best of its kind in North Wales, and you will be part of a valuable service to patients.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. The role is physically active and varied, delivering and collecting equipment for wards across the hospital, and making it ready to be used again.

The Equipment Library offers a full service during office hours Monday to Friday. We are looking for someone to work full time (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday. You need to be able to work well on your own with remote support from the Medical Devices Team.

You will be joining a positive and supportive team, who are committed to providing a good service.

The role and the organisation are committed to equality and diversity, and we are proud to welcome applicants under the Disability Confident Employer scheme. Applications may be submitted in Welsh. Applications submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver and collect equipment for wards across the hospital and make it ready to be used again.
  • Check that devices are working correctly and put battery equipment on charge.
  • Clean devices in line with Health Board policies.
  • Carry out some basic safety testing of returned equipment.
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment problems and report faulty medical devices.
  • Signpost information and training for staff when required.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • The role is physically active and varied and requires ability to work both independently and with remote support from the Medical Devices Team.
  • Welsh language ability is desirable; applications from Welsh and/or English speakers are welcome.
  • Full-time (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday, during office hours.
