Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an ambitious environmental due diligence consultant to join its team, focusing on delivering environmental liability advice to real estate clients, including acquisition, divestment, and refinancing considerations.

You will work with experts across the business to assess risks related to contaminated land, flood risk, asbestos, and energy efficiency legislation, while contributing to project budgeting and client liaison.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences, Earth Sciences, Geography or Geology.
• Experience delivering environmental due diligence assessments, such as Phase I Assessments, ideally in a consultancy setting.
• Commitment to delivering robust, diligent reporting.
• Experience presenting report findings to clients in a timely and clear manner (client facing).
• Demonstrable experience delivering projects under tight timescales.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Passion and enthusiasm to self-develop and be a contributing member of a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of desk studies and Phase I Assessments, including UK-wide site visits. Site visits are typically half-day commitments.
• Autonomy to manage due diligence projects from commissioning and client liaison to project delivery and invoicing.
• Provide robust technical advice to clients when considering complex sites with significant potential liabilities.
• Opportunity to build skills beyond environmental due diligence through involvement in business development, budgeting, and account management.
