Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an Applied AI Engineer in London to design, build, and deploy AI-powered products and systems for Digital Native customers. You will work closely with customer product and engineering teams, taking ideas from early experimentation through production launch and scale, while aligning technical decisions with user experience and measurable business impact.

You will write and debug code, build evaluation systems, resolve complex integrations, and guide decisions around model

Qualifications

• Proven track record designing, building, and delivering AI/ML systems in enterprise environments, including production deployments.
• Strong hands-on coding experience and ability to work across an AI application stack.
• Experience with evaluating AI systems using representative data, production signals, and human judgment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Digital Native customers to translate opportunities into architectures, plans, evaluation strategies, and success criteria.
• Design, build, and deploy AI systems that solve customer problems and deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Develop prototypes, evaluation harnesses, reference implementations, integrations, and production accelerators.
