Job summary

The Tutor Trust is seeking an English tutor to plan and deliver engaging sessions for small groups of pupils during the school day, typically 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. This self-employed role is based in schools across the region and includes training and safeguarding requirements.

You will build relationships, track progress, and work with a dedicated coordinator to support educational equity and pupil success. Competitive pay and flexible scheduling are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or over and not in sixth form.
• Right to work in UK and register as self-employed by start.
• Availability for tutoring during school day (Mon-Fri, 8am–4pm).
• GCSE English Language grade 6 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver English sessions for up to four pupils.
• Track pupil progress and maintain session registers.
• Follow safeguarding policies and Tutor Trust safeguarding procedures.
• Communicate proactively with coordinator and schools.
• Attend safeguarding training before tutoring.
• Reflect on practice and act on feedback to improve.
• Contribute to Tutor Trust’s development by providing feedback.
