Job summary

The Tutor Trust is seeking English tutors to plan and deliver engaging sessions for small groups during the school day in the North of England. You will build relationships with pupils over up to 15 school weeks, track progress, and adhere to safeguarding policies.

Training is provided; this is a self-employed role with DBS and right-to-work requirements. Applicants should be at least 18, with GCSE English at grade 6, and be available weekdays 8am–4pm.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate strong critical thinking and communication.
• Willingness to travel to school sites across region.
• Aged 18+ and not currently in sixth form, college, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured English sessions for small groups.
• Build trusting, boundaried relationships with pupils throughout up to 15 school weeks.
• Track pupil progress and complete session reports and registers on time.
• Follow school safeguarding policies and Tutor Trust safeguarding procedures.
• Communicate proactively with your coordinator and the schools.
• Attend all required training, including safeguarding training, before you begin tutoring.
• Reflect on practice and act on feedback to improve.
• Provide regular feedback and suggest programme improvements.
