Job summary

The Tutor Trust is seeking a Maths tutor to plan and deliver tuition for small groups during the school day (Mon–Fri, 8am–4pm). This is a self-employed role with sessions in schools, requiring right to work in the UK and HMRC self-employment registration.

You will be paid £20 per hour for planning and delivering tuition, with safeguarding checks, DBS and comprehensive training provided. Travel to school sites across your region is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable knowledge equivalent to a GCSE Maths grade 6.
• Availability for tutoring during the school day (Mon–Fri, 8am–4pm).
• Willingness to travel to school sites across your region.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured English sessions tailored to pupils’ needs.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils over up to 15 school weeks.
• Track pupil progress and complete session reports and registers accurately.
• Follow school safeguarding policies and Tutor Trust’s safeguarding procedures.
• Communicate proactively with your coordinator and the schools you’re placed in.
• Attend all required training, including safeguarding training, before you begin tutoring.
• Reflect on your practice and act on feedback to keep improving.
• Contribute to Tutor Trust’s development by providing regular feedback and suggesting programme improvements.
