Job summary

The Tutor Trust is recruiting Maths tutors to deliver small-group tuition in schools across Tees Valley. The role is self-employed and requires availability during the school day (8am–4pm, Monday–Friday).

You will plan and deliver Maths tuition, build relationships with pupils, and complete session reports while adhering to safeguarding policies. Competencies include subject passion, professionalism, and the ability to build positive relationships with diverse pupils.

Qualifications

• Subject knowledge and ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Punctuality, preparation and reliability in sessions.
• Ability to connect with pupils and maintain boundaries.
• Willingness to travel to multiple school sites within the region.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Maths tuition tailored to pupils’ needs.
• Build trusted relationships with pupils over the 15-week assignments.
• Track pupil progress and complete session reports accurately and on time.
• Follow safeguarding policies and Tutor Trust safeguarding procedures.
• Communicate proactively with coordinator and schools.
• Attend required safeguarding training before tutoring begins.
• Reflect on practice and implement feedback to improve.
• Contribute to Tutor Trust’s development by providing regular feedback.
