Job summary

The University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre is seeking a Tutor to deliver high-quality engineering education for advanced and higher apprenticeships. You will design, prepare, deliver and assess knowledge elements, ensuring alignment with Ofsted Education Inspection Framework.

You will deliver a range of units focusing on automation, controls, PLCs and fault finding, with experience in teaching the EAL Diploma desirable. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven teaching ability and willingness to work towards a teaching qualification.
• Knowledge of engineering/automation topics and related processes.
• Ability to plan, deliver, and assess learning for apprentices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching in engineering subjects using active learning.
• Assess apprentices’ work and provide constructive feedback.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and learning materials.
• Utilise Blackboard for online and hybrid teaching and support learning.
