Job summary

Synergi Search & Select Ltd in Leicester is seeking a Maintenance Team Leader to lead a shift engineering team in a heavy industrial, high‑volume production plant. You will perform electrical and mechanical fault finding, breakdown repairs, and drive reliability initiatives.

The role covers PLC‑controlled equipment, motors, drives, sensors, hydraulics and pneumatics, with a focus on safety, planned maintenance and accurate maintenance reporting.

Qualifications

• Time-served Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Recognised Electrical Engineering qualification required.
• Experience as Maintenance Team Leader or similar in manufacturing.
• Strong fault-finding skills with PLC‑controlled equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a shift engineering team in a heavy industrial environment.
• Support plant reliability through reactive and planned maintenance.
• Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding on automated production machinery.
• Work with PLC-controlled equipment, motors, drives, sensors, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Coordinate engineering activities to maximise plant uptime and production performance.
• Drive health & safety standards and ensure site procedure compliance.
• Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability projects.
• Ensure maintenance reports and records are completed accurately.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Team Leader, Lead Engineer, Engineering Supervisor, Senior Maintenance Engineer or Shift Engineering Team Leader looking to join a market-leading manufacturer operating a complex, high-volume production plant.
You’ll lead a team of multi-skilled engineers while remaining hands-on with electrical and mechanical fault finding, breakdown repairs, PPMs, continuous improvement projects, and plant reliability initiatives.

The Role

• Lead and motivate a shift engineering team in a heavy industrial environment.
