Engineering Scheduler & Service Coordinator

Job summary

Confidential is recruiting an experienced Service Coordinator / Engineer Scheduler to join a busy service department in Leeds. You will coordinate a team of field-based engineers, plan maintenance, service visits, remedial works and emergency call-outs, while keeping engineers and customers fully informed.

The role requires strong organisation, clear communication and proactive problem-solving, with a focus on efficient diary management and customer liaison.

Qualifications

• Proven experience scheduling multiple engineers or field-based teams.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure.
• Proactive approach and ability to make decisions independently.
• Strong relationship-building skills with engineers and customers.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to quickly learn scheduling and service management systems.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate multiple field-based engineers, balancing location, priority, availability, skills and customer requirements.
• Plan and organise planned maintenance and service visits.
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergency call-outs and changing priorities.
• Manage and continuously review engineer diaries to maximise efficiency.
• Rearrange schedules at short notice when required.
• Provide engineers with clear work instructions, site information and relevant documentation.
• Liaise with customers regarding appointments, changes, delays and queries.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure engineers have everything required for each visit.
• Assist with service reports, worksheets, estimates and invoicing information.
• Support the Service Manager with the day-to-day running of the department.
• Build strong working relationships with engineers and customers.
• Identify scheduling issues and resolve problems proactively.
