Overview

Design Engineering Manager – Progression To Director — GBP75,000 – GBP85,000 + Progression + Training • Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 • Taunton

Do you have experience managing engineering projects, designs, budgets and multiple teams – such as design, production and procurement? Are you looking for a new role within an industry leading manufacturer who are offering the chance to step into a Director role within the next couple of years?

Due to continued growth and further expansion planned for 2026 my client are looking for a design engineering manager to join the team at their state of the art facility in Taunton. You will become part of a very busy and successful management team and will play a vital role within a business who have been at the forefront of their sector for over 20 years and have very ambitious plans for the future. The successful applicant will manage CAPEX budgets & projects and will have a strong focus on improving production efficiencies, engineering designs and order completion times. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader who has managed budgets & projects and wants to take the next step in their career.

You will gain access to excellent training and development preparing to move into directorship while working on a range of bespoke, special purpose machinery supplied to customers across the globe. Specialising in full concept–to–completion solutions for customers – from in–house design and manufacturing to providing full turnkey installations, service, and product training.

Responsibilities

• Working with and managing multiple departments such as design, procurement, production and engineering
• Managing budgets and engineering projects (CAPEX)
• Moving into a director role in the near future

Qualifications

• Has managed CAPEX projects and has senior/management experience
• Keen to progress
• A commutable distance to Taunton with a full UK driving license
