Job summary

Raylo, London-based, is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead two cross-functional pods and drive high‑quality software delivery. You’ll balance technical leadership with hands-on development and partner with product, data, and operations to accelerate growth.

You’ll mentor engineers, shape engineering practices, and steer critical initiatives across frontend, backend, and data platforms, while maintaining a culture of ownership and curiosity.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as engineering lead or manager with at least 2 years managing a team of 3+ engineers.
• Hands-on engineering experience (3+ years).
• Strong frontend or backend development with modern stacks.
• Experience in data / analytics engineering.
• Proven track record delivering cross-functional projects in Agile environments.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring engineers to grow skills and impact.
• Background in startups or scale-ups.
• Servant leadership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead two cross-functional engineering pods in close collaboration with product teams.
• Manage a team of engineers with coaching, feedback and performance reviews.
• Balance technical leadership with hands-on development (30–70%).
• Own the technical direction of projects and improve velocity, quality and reliability.
• Ensure project delivery and shipping of impactful features.
• Shape engineering culture with leadership and mentoring.
• Investigate and resolve data platform and pipeline issues.
• Set clear expectations and align OKRs with leadership.
