Job summary

Raylo is the subscription infrastructure that enables major electronics brands to move from one-off device sales to recurring subscription programmes. You will lead two cross-functional engineering pods, balancing technical leadership with hands-on coding, and mentor a growing team while contributing to Raylo’s engineering culture.

In this hybrid London-based role, you’ll collaborate with product managers and other engineers to deliver impactful features, improve reliability, and scale our data

Qualifications

• 3+ years as engineering lead or manager with at least 2 years leading a team of 3+ engineers.
• Hands-on engineering background (3+ years).
• Strong experience in frontend (Next.js) or backend (Ruby on Rails).
• Experience mentoring engineers and delivering cross-functional projects in agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead two cross-functional engineering pods (frontend, backend, data, analytics, AI).
• Manage engineers with 1:1s, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Balance leadership with hands-on coding (30–70%).
• Own technical direction and improve velocity, platform quality and reliability.
• Shape Raylo’s engineering culture and mentor teammates.
• Resolve data platform and pipeline issues as part of the rota.
