Would you like to work with one of the most successful wholesale manufacturers in the UK?

We are seeking an experienced and driven Engineering Manager to oversee all engineering activities at a production facility in Cumbria. This senior role is key to ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective production of high-quality food products.

The Role

• Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team, coordinating the activities of the engineering department to design, develop, improve and test components and systems on site.
• Prepare and manage CAPEX projects, controls the department budget, forecast operating costs and support strategic planning.
• Plan, Organise and direct all engineering activities through electrical and mechanical engineers and other technical staff.
• Promote a strong health & safety culture and maintain and develop the documentation for the ISO 14001, BRC, Internal Technical & SHE legal compliance systems within the department.
• Effective management of the company PPM system to optimise plant efficiency, minimise downtime and manage an effective stockholding.

The Candidate

• Proven experience of Engineering Management within the food manufacturing industry.
• Good general level of education, preferably to HNC/HND standard in food technology and mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Track record of leading and developing engineering teams and performance management of plants and people, and supporting a continuous improvement culture.
• Experience in the dairy industry desirable.
