Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Engineering Design Manager to lead multi-disciplinary design on major infrastructure projects in the UK. You will ensure designs are buildable, compliant, and innovative while coordinating with clients, engineers and contractors from early concepts through delivery.

The role requires a strong background in integrated design delivery, BIM, and CAD (AutoCAD/Revit), with a Chartered Engineer being preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing design through full lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of integrated design delivery and managing consultant performance.
• Knowledge and experience of BIM and common data environments
• Degree qualified, or equivalent, in engineering discipline either Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Chartered Engineer status preferred with CIBSE, IMechE or similar
• Passionate about construction and customer satisfaction, with a focus on high standards and excellence.
• Experience with CAD (AutoCAD or Revit)

Responsibilities

• Work with Project Manager to manage contract with external design consultants and contractors.
• Lead technical assurance, review constructability, and manage design interfaces.
• Management of multi-disciplinary teams of Engineers from consultants and partner companies.
• Collaborate with technical, operational, maintenance, and strategic stakeholders.
• Liaise with Clients, Engineering Managers, Project Managers, Contractors and Consultants.
• Drive development of innovative, practical and sustainable engineering solutions.
• Embed health, safety and environmental considerations into all engineering and design solutions.
• Ensure effective integration across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and Electrical functions.
• Ensure constructability, maintainability and reliability across the asset lifecycle.
