Job summary

Meridian Business Support Ltd partners with a respected engineering business to recruit a Business Development Manager. This remote and field-based role covers the UK and international markets, with the Grimsby headquarters backing a dynamic team and occasional international travel.

You will identify new opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and manage the full sales cycle from enquiry to contract delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, Account Manager, or similar commercial role.
• Strong engineering or technical background ideally within a Capital Equipment Field, with the ability to understand customer challenges and develop practical solutions.
• Proven success in generating new business and managing customer accounts.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple opportunities.
• Proactive, self-motivated approach with a genuine passion for winning business.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Flexibility to travel throughout the UK and internationally when required.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and securing new business opportunities within target markets.
• Developing and executing growth strategies to increase market share and revenue.
• Managing the entire sales cycle, from initial enquiry through to contract negotiation and project delivery.
• Building strong relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders.
• Visiting clients across the UK and internationally, attending meetings, exhibitions, and industry events.
• Staying ahead of market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
• Collaborating with engineering, service, and aftermarket teams to deliver outstanding customer solutions.
• Acting as the primary point of contact throughout the customer journey.
• Driving account growth through repeat business, cross-selling, and long-term partnership development.
• Supporting contract renewals, service agreements, and wider business development initiatives.
